About us
animal.press, The animal experts
animal.press was founded in 1997 by journalists Bob Borrink (former editor and Publishing Director of the Gong Group, Munich), Dr. Dirk Altemann (former Gong Group editor and Bob’s deputy), and biologist Claus M. Schmidt (former editor of the animals and nature magazines Ein Herz für Tiere, and Ein Herz für Tiere international, and of BBC Wildlife Germany).
70 leading pet and wildlife photographers, plus freelance journalists, provide us with their valuable news stories and archive material, which we supply to 120 publications in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Regular customers include publishing houses such as Bauer, Burda, G&J, Klambt, Ringier, Springer, WAZ etc.
In fact, animal.press leads the German speaking market. Our other rapidly growing markets are in the East European countries and Scandinavia.
